ORASURE TECHNOLOGIES
OraSure Technologies has played an instrumental role in increasing access to HIV testing throughout the world.
In 1994, OraSure brought to market the OraSure® HIV-1 Oral Fluid Specimen Device - the only FDA approved collection device that collects oral fluid to test for antibodies to the HIV-1 virus.
In 2002, OraSure introduced the OraQuick® Rapid HIV-1 Antibody Test - the first FDA approved and CLIA waived rapid point-of-care test to aid in the diagnosis of infection to HIV-1 using a fingerstick and venipuncture whole blood specimen.
And in 2004, OraSure launched the first oral fluid rapid HIV test - the OraQuick ADVANCE® HIV-1/2 Antibody Test - the only FDA approved test than can be used on oral fluid, plasma, fingerstick and venipuncture whole blood specimens.
ORAQUICK RAPID HIV-1 ANTIBODY TEST OraQuick® is an FDA approved rapid point-of-care fingerstick and venipuncture whole blood test used to aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1 infection. This CLIA waived test, which detects the presence of antibodies to HIV-1, requires only a drop of blood and can produce results in 20 minutes.
